What is SHUTTLE4U?

SHUTTLE4U is a demand-oriented driving service with professional, trained drivers, a so-called On-Demand Ride Pooling Service, which further expands business mobility between BMW locations in the north of Munich. Ride pooling means that individual trips are combined and several passengers can travel similar sections of the route together.

Will SHUTTLE4U take me to any location of my choice?

SHUTTLE4U takes you to the specified “virtual stops.” SHUTTLE4U does not reach any address.

Between which locations does SHUTTLE4U travel?

The SHUTTLE4U vehicles drive to several destinations in Unterschleissheim, Oberschleissheim, Garching, Aschheim and Munich. The exact list of bus stops can be found under the question “Where are the SHUTTLE4U stops”.

What is a virtual stop and how do I find it?

You can only see the stops in the Urby app, simply click on the Shuttle4u offer or click on your ticket after booking. Please go to the bus stop just before SHUTTLE4U picks you up. Getting on and off is only possible there.

Does this offer only apply to BMW Group employees?

Yes, this offer is only available to BMW Group employees (incl. ZAK's, PraDiDo and apprentices).

HOW TO USE SHUTTLE4U

BEFORE THE RIDE

How can I book a ride?

Download the Urby app to your iPhone and register. Then enter the start and destination. If your start and destination are SHUTTLE4U stops, the tile will be shown to you in the Urby app.

Is registration necessary?

Yes, registration with Urby is required to use it. No additional registration is required.

When can I use SHUTTLE4U?

SHUTTLE4U is available for business trips from Monday to Thursday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. and on Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Can I book a ride in advance?

Yes, you can book up to 6 days in advance.

Can I book a ride for more than one person?

You can bring up to 3 people with you for your booking. You can specify this when booking.

Can I choose the vehicle that will pick me up?

No, you will always be assigned the closest available vehicle.

How long do I have to wait?

The waiting time is shown in the app and may differ between trips. A maximum waiting time is 30 minutes. It is also possible that no vehicle is available (then the offer cannot be booked either).

What do I do if there is no offer for SHUTTLE4U in Urby?

If a SHUTTLE4U is not available, this will be shown in Urby and it is not possible to book the shuttle. If you don't receive any information about SHUTTLE4U in Urby, check whether your start and destination are close to a virtual bus stop.

What do I do if my vehicle doesn't come?

In the booking ticket, you can see the current status of your trip with the position of the booked vehicle. Due to ride pooling logic, there may be a slight delay in the pick-up time.

Why am I not receiving an offer for a trip right now?

The vehicles are already booked out or your request is too close to the end of the shift (5:30 p.m, on Fridays 4:00 p.m).
Tip: Try it a few minutes later. The vehicles are constantly on the move and should soon have a free space again.

What happens if I don't make it to the pick-up location in time?

To ensure a pleasant and quick transfer for all passengers, our drivers can wait for you at the pick-up location for a maximum of 3 minutes. If the shuttle is unable to start the journey during this period, the booking will be canceled.

DURING THE RIDE

Will I be brought from A to B alone?

It may be. However, other passengers with a destination in the same direction can also get into the vehicle and you drive the way together (“ride pooling”). This may result in minor delays.

What influence does ride pooling have on travel time?

The route is optimised by the SHUTTLE4U software and is already included in the displayed travel time. The travel time can also be slightly longer on the road if someone else books on your trip.

What is the booking code?

After successful booking, you will be shown the booking code in the Urby app. When you board the shuttle, you share this with the driver for identification.

Can I take luggage with me in the vehicle?

Carry-on luggage is allowed.

What happens to forgotten items?

Forgotten items are collected by the driver and returned to the security department in the high-rise building at the end of his shift.

How do I get my forgotten items back?

You can pick up your forgotten items from security at "BMW Hochhaus" (Dostlerstraße).

Is it free to use?

Yes, it is free to use for official routes. Use for private trips is not permitted.

Are private trips allowed with SHUTTLE4U?

No, the SHUTTLE4U service is only permitted for business trips.

How many passengers can a shuttle fit?

Depending on the vehicle, a maximum of 3 to 5 seats are available.

What kind of vehicles are there?

There are various vehicles in use — usually a BMW iX1 and a van-like vehicle. You can always recognize them by the Shuttle4u sign or sticker.

What data is beeing collected for the SHUTTLE4U trip?

The start and destination entered in Urby will be transferred to SHUTTLE4U as a trip request. The trip is validated using a randomly generated booking code. Personal data is not transferred to SHUTTLE4U.

How do I contact customer service?
